The Jerry Jeff Walker Band featuring Django Walker with special guest Matt Tedder
An Evening Of Jerry Jeff Walker Music feat. Django Walker & The Jerry Jeff Walker Band
Django Walker is a person who truly has music in his blood. As a child, he was born and raised in Austin, TX and is the son of Texas singer-songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker. He spent his earliest days soaking up Texas legends such as Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, and Guy Clark, all of whom Jerry Jeff played with and befriended.
Django made a name for himself pinning songs for Pat Green (Texas on my Mind,) Jimmy Buffett(Something ‘Bout a Boat,) Josh Abbott, Kevin Fowler, among many others. He has had great success with his winning song “College Life” as well as “Texas Longhorn” which plays at every home game at DKR Longhorn Stadium.
Today Django still carries that torch representing music in the Lone Star State and touring all over the country...and it burns big and bright.
Matt Tedder
Texas-born songwriter and guitarist Matt Tedder blends deep roots in the blues with a growing devotion to classic country and dancehall culture. Raised just outside Fort Worth, he cut his teeth on Texas blues greats before landing in Nashville for a stint at 17 to chase music full-time. In time, his influences expanded to include the likes of Merle Haggard, JJ Cale, and Guy Clark, leading him back to Texas with a fresh reverence for the country storytelling tradition. His 2023 album I Can Dream You channels both groove and restraint, inspired in part by the music that was shared with him by his late father. Now based in Austin, Tedder has become a fixture in the city’s honky tonk dance scene, with weekly residencies shaping his next project, Light Touch. The upcoming record reflects an evolving artist… one learning to play, sing, and—like his new album’s title siggests—to approach everything with a “light touch.”
