CJ Barr
CJ Starr was raised all over the Midwest, but his comedy was born in Texas. His storytelling style connects with audiences everywhere, pulling laughs from the chaos of real life as a seasoned man still trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up.
CJ’s comedy is rooted in his unique upbringing and lived experiences—growing up in a semi single parent home, bi-racial relationship, raising kids and grandkids, surviving bad career choices, a brief tenure at community college, jail time, and everything in between. His material is honest, versatile, and relatable, which is why his fan base spans every walk of life.
CJ Starr has performed at major festivals including Oddball Comedy Festival and Gilda’s LaughFest (three years in a row). He has appeared on television shows such as LMAO on Jewish Life TV and Laughs on FOX (four episodes), which can also be seen on Hulu. He was a finalist in Kenan Thompson’s Ultimate Comedy Experience and was voted Funniest Comic in Texas.
In addition to stand-up, CJ continues to expand his creative footprint as a writer for Apple TV projects and YouTube web series. He has also taught Intro to Comedy classes, helping develop the next generation of comics.
Over the past year, CJ worked more than 300 shows and launched his own tour, “Sorry 4Da Weight.” He also worked exclusively with actor Jeremy Piven on Piven’s nationwide theater comedy tour, including the filming of Piven’s comedy special. CJ currently hosts a brand-new untitled podcast that launches mid 2026
