Cody Canada & The Departed

Cody Canada & The Departed is a three-piece Americana roots-rock band based in New Braunfels, Texas. The band is comprised of front man Cody Canada, bassist Jeremy Plato, and drummer Eric Hansen.

Canada and Plato – bandmates since the inception and through the dissolution of former rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed–join forces with drummer Hansen to round out The Departed. The result is poignant, thoughtfully crafted songs delivered with bold guitars, boomy bass lines and plenty of muscle. The new iteration of The Departed offers concert-goers a well-rounded sonic experience: the Red Dirt ghosts from Canada’s upbringing; the re-emergence of favored Cross Canadian Ragweed tunes; plus a revival of classic country gold from Plato-led vocals.

Kin Faux

Sparked from a vision of wanting to play the music they enjoyed and loved, Kin Faux started full time in January 2018. Fiddle player and front man Rico Gonzalez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the family mariachi band as a young child and then later grew up to major in Violin Performance and travel the world with the San Antonio Symphony. After discovering the beauty and authenticity of true country music, he turned his violin into a fiddle, and began the journey down the Texas Country Red Dirt Road. He then met drummer Dan Currier, who had similar interests in a music career, and the band Kin Faux began to form. They met and welcomed established guitarist, Jason Helton, to the Kin Faux family who happened to know a seasoned bass player named, Ross Barkey, whom just completed a tour with Whitey Morgan and the rest was history. The band got their first break playing at a small pub in Eastern Michigan called Billy’s Pine Run Inn, and not much later had their first Texas Tour lined up. That first year, Kin Faux was on a fast track winning, “Best Country Band of the Year” and Rico Gonzalez winning, “Best Country Musician of the Year”, of the Tri-State area in The Review Magazine’s yearly music awards, along with recording their first EP and having the honor of selling out their very first Luckenbach, Texas show with Kevin Fowler.
