Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas is excited to announce the next installment of its popular Bus Tour program. Initiated in 2010, the series of tours offers participants unique access to a number of the Dallas area’s most esteemed sites for contemporary art, all in one afternoon. Previous Bus Tours have included visits to the collection of Cowboy’s AT&T Stadium, the homes of private collectors, and the creative centers of our city’s own artist’s studios. Best of all, guests are provided lunch and transported to each location on a private, luxury bus.
The August 24th Bus Tour will be hosted by CADD member galleries Erin Cluley Gallery, Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art, and Galleri Urbane. The day will commence with an exclusive tour of one of Dallas’ most esteemed private collections at the home of Elisabeth and Panos Karpidas. While many works of the Karpidas collection have been on display at their Design District gallery space, this Bus Tour will grant access to view and hear about works in the family’s home designed by Bernbaum Magadani Architects. The collection includes works by internationally renowned artists Sarah Lucas, Ed Ruscha, and Glenn Ligon, amongst many others, and guests will get a rare chance to experience them in a domestic setting. Following the Karpidas’ collection, the Bus Tour will continue for a progressive lunch at the three hosting galleries. Beginning at Galleri Urbane, savory appetizers and drinks will be provided alongside an introduction to the current exhibition Private Collection by the show’s curator Adrian Zuniga. Next, lunch mains will be served at Erin Cluley Gallery with insight to gallery’s SUMMER 2019 exhibition. The Bus Tour will conclude with dessert, a toast and a tour of Carneal Simmons Contemporary Art’s current show Tethered Reflections.
This Bus Tour is limited to 20 seats. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased online at the link below. Your ticket purchase helps support CADD and programming like the annual CADD Fund and the CADD Scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
