Free Screening of 67 Bombs to Enid in Alva on October 9th

Alva, OK — 67 Bombs to Enid, a powerful new documentary confronting the United States’ nuclear legacy in the Marshall Islands, will be shown in a free screening at the Rialto Theater in Alva on Thursday, October 9th. Following the film, the community is invited to join filmmakers for a discussion at Alva Beer Co.

Executive produced by Academy Award-winner Errol Morris and co-directed by Kevin Ford and Ty McMahan, and produced by Brandon Kobs, 67 Bombs to Enid explores the lasting effects of the 67 nuclear weapons tests conducted in the Marshall Islands between 1946 and 1958. The film highlights the deep ties of the Marshallese community in Oklahoma, particularly in Enid, and sheds light on a largely overlooked chapter of American history.

“When we share the story of the Marshallese people in Enid, it’s nearly always the same reaction—‘How did I not know about this?’” said Co-Director Ty McMahan. This screening is another chance to spark that awareness and conversation.
