BLACKWOOD MOJO
Tommy Lafferty & Dee Rock

Blackwood Mojo is the dynamic duo of Dee Rock (lead vocals and guitar) and Tommy Lafferty (guitar and backing vocals). These two musical powerhouses had known of each other for decades but had never met. Thanks to a mutual friend, Dee and Tommy met virtually in 2019. However, it wasn't until 2022, in the heart of Nashville, that they finally met in person.

After countless conversations and their first collaboration on the song "Love Is", Blackwood Mojo was born. Tommy Lafferty has been a professional guitarist for over 40 years. He's toured the US and Europe, opening for industry icons such as David Bowie, The Eurythmics, The Pretenders, Slash, Little Steven, and Tina Turner, to name a few. A student of The Berklee School of Music, Tommy draws from his music education in all of his creative endeavors.

Tommy's IT background brought him together with the extraordinary George Lucas. His mind-bending diversity is also exemplified by his contributions to the blockbuster film, "The Matrix". From 1979 to 1982, Tommy's skills allowed him to be part of Dick Clark Tours. This gave him the opportunity, as a teenager, to play with the Legends such as Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Gary US Bonds, and many other highly acclaimed artists.

Tommy is a member of the cult classic rock band Voodoo X. His sought-after guitar skills have been seen and heard alongside artists like Jean Beauvoir and Little Steven (guitarist for Bruce Springsteen). His unique talents landed him an audition for KISS and put him on some of the world's largest stages, including London's legendary Wembley Stadium, where Crown of Thorns opened for Van Halen and Bon Jovi. His impeccable chops helped him reach Gold Record status with Jean Beauvoir's "Drums Along the Mohawk" album. Tommy is the cool dude of the duo – inspiring, a great storyteller with an intriguing history, world travel experience, an IT background, and a dedicated family man.

Dee Rock brings the Mojo to the mix. His music career began on the West Coast in various L.A. studios. He achieved Billboard success as a producer for the College Boyz, Virgin Records groundbreaking first Hip-Hop group, reaching the Top 10 R&B and Hip-Hop charts and number 2 on the "Heat Seekers" chart for his work on "Radio Fusion Radio." That success was followed by his work on Paula Abdul's album with DJ Skat Kat. His in-demand production skills brought him more success on Disney Music's album, "The Party", and opened the way for producing for EMI and Hollywood Records, among others.
