Daybed Album Release Show

Daybed is an indie rock band formed in 2017 in Austin, TX.  Band members Reagan Smith, Joey Chance, and Austin Norman played together previously in The Oh Hellos, among various other projects since college.  Rounding out the lineup is Ali Wagner from Hex Boyfriend, on bass; the band has been playing shows throughout Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Oklahoma City.

Daybed’s sound is diverse, with albums ranging in tone from ambient to folk pop.  Their forthcoming album, Idle Talk, uses the band’s background in hardcore and grunge music and twists it into a fever dream of vocalist/guitarist Smith’s nostalgia, creating a sonic déjà vu.  Singles “Summer” and “Wind” are pure, crunchy power pop, while “Coming Home” creates a familiar feeling of fear and anxiety; like a classic horror movie, but the ending keeps changing.
