Two Tons of Steel is a long-running Texas roots band known for their high-energy blend of rockabilly, country, and Americana. Formed in San Antonio in the 1990s, the group built a loyal following through relentless touring and electrifying live shows that mix vintage honky-tonk spirit with modern drive.
Fronted for many years by founder and upright bassist Kevin Geil, Two Tons of Steel became a staple of the Texas dancehall and roots scene, earning a reputation for tight musicianship, heartfelt songwriting, and a deep love of classic American music. Their sound bridges traditional country swing, early rock ’n’ roll, and road-tested barroom anthems—delivered with authenticity and grit.
Whether on festival stages or in intimate honky-tonks, Two Tons of Steel continues to carry the torch for Texas roots music with energy, soul, and a whole lot of twang.
