Tim Kerr is a legendary figure in the Texas independent music scene, best known for helping shape Austin’s punk movement as a founding member of bands like Big Boys and Poison 13. Over the decades Kerr has built a reputation not only as a fierce guitarist and songwriter, but also as a visual artist, producer, and mentor within the DIY music community.
With his current project Up Around the Sun, Kerr explores a more roots-driven sound that blends folk, country, and garage-rock spirit. Backed by a tight Texas band, the group delivers heartfelt songs, rich harmonies, and the same raw authenticity Kerr has carried throughout his long career. The result is timeless, soulful music from one of Texas’ most respected underground pioneers.
