The band was formed in 2014 by members of A Dozen Furies, Slow Roosevelt, and SouthFM. After playing just two shows and recording four demos, the band went on a long hiatus and lost guitarist Joey Turner and drummer Mike Miller. In August 2017, the band announced a new lineup that includes original members Peter Thomas and Doug McGrath, plus Southern Train Gypsy members Brian Hoover (guitar), Daniel McKay (drums) and Travis Knight (guitar). The band has finished recording its first tracks with the new lineup, produced by Travis Knight. Drums were tracked at Fort Worth Sound with Bart Rose and the remaining tracks were recorded at Knight's home studio. The first track, Sweep The Leg, is now available at daggerclub.bandcamp.com.
Secret Of Boris
Secret Of Boris has emerged from the Dallas, TX music scene with a uniquely heavy yet hauntingly beautiful hard-rock sound. Their debut record Your Ghost was produced by Harder Beat 2009 Producer of the Year, Alex Gerst (Seasons After, Fair To Midland, Slow Roosevelt). “An infectious blend of catchy hooks, snappy rhythms and aggressive riffage… heavy music’s weighty crunch and even sugary 80’s pop...one of Dallas' most promising talents,” says Jerry Rutherford of LIT Monthly. Melodic, progressive, Indie, mainstream, metal, pop – it’s like being turned on to the best stuff you’ve never heard with the comfortable familiarity of the stuff you've heard a million times" says Robert Miguel of Robert Miguel Presents. Having gained a rabid following throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Secret Of Boris is currently touring surrounding cities and states throughout the southwest, increasing their army of loyal fans. On their way to world domination, Secret Of Boris has shared the stage with Black Light Burns, Hed(pe), F5, Underoath, Ugly Mustard, Fair To Midland, Anberlin, God Forbid, Boondox, Hopesfall, and Guns n Roses.
Formed in Commerce Texas, in the winter of 2014, former members of DFW heavyweights Fair To Midland, Edgewater, Advent, Loaded Moses, Negative 263 and Flush, joined forces to create Erstwhile. With likenesses to bands such as A Perfect Circle, Failure, Type-O-Negative & Nine Inch Nails, Erstwhile’s diverse musical influences & stylings have established themselves as a musical force, hailing from the DFW music scene. Fans have described their music as “slow & low, driving-rock,” with others describing them as “cinematic rock.” Bassist Cameron Woolf states, “we wanted to do something driving, something that rocks, but something that takes you on an emotional musical journey, all at the same time.” Lee Russell, radio personality & host from Reckless Rock Radio on 89.3 KNON in Dallas said, “if Pink Floyd & Type-O-Negative had a lovechild, they would have had Erstwhile as a baby.” www.ghostofblindlemon.com posted after a show stating, “Erstwhile was one of the last bands I saw take the stage. The band’s performance was nothing short of amazing. The most memorable music moment of their set came with Six Lies. The keyboard intro feels like it would’ve been a perfect intro to a Sisters of Mercy song, only before the track morphs into a heavy rock groove that Deftones would likely be envious of.” Erstwhile’s self-titled debut album is available now on all major streaming platforms & for sale on their website, iTunes, Amazon Music & Bandcamp.
