Daring Greatly
Harmony-driven rock from Calgary to San Diego.
Daring Greatly is a Canadian-American rock ’n’ roll band bridging the songwriting and vocal traditions of the ’60s and ’70s with the scale and texture of modern rock.
Originally formed in Calgary, Alberta, by brothers Patrick Croome (vocals/guitar) and Liam Croome (vocals/keys), alongside longtime friend Brayden Tario (drums/vocals), the band now calls Southern California home. The three Canadians are joined by Jeff Starkey (electric guitar) and Brendan Cutrer (bass), completing the current five-piece lineup.
Much of Daring Greatly’s music begins with an acoustic guitar, a melody, and a lyric before expanding into driving rhythm, piano and organ, commanding electric guitar, and layered three-part vocals. At the center is the natural “blood harmony” between Patrick and Liam, joined by Brayden’s third voice.
Live, those arrangements are given room to stretch, moving between tightly crafted songs, extended guitar solos, and spontaneous jams. Think the Eagles’ or CSN’s vocal richness, the Allman Brothers Band’s musical freedom, and Led Zeppelin’s weight, carried forward with a modern rock sound.
More than 1,000 performances into their career, Daring Greatly has shared stages with Bon Jovi, The Doobie Brothers, Midland, Young the Giant, Lainey Wilson, Plain White T’s, and more, while earning multiple San Diego Music Award wins and nominations. Their online audience has grown considerably in recent years, with select performance videos reaching millions of viewers.
The band has independently released five albums, a greatest-hits collection, the recent Let It Ride EP, and a steady run of new singles. In 2026, they completed their largest tour yet, a 35-date, eight-week run across the U.S. and Canada.
More than a decade in, Daring Greatly remains fiercely independent, continuing to write, record, release, and tour without a record label or management team, still living up to the philosophy behind their name: show up, take the chance, and dare greatly.
