Mark Linkous'  aka Sparklehorse posthumous LP "Birdmachine" was just released on September 8th, and to commemorate that and to shine a light on the legacy of his music and his art, artists in and around the Dallas / Denton community are coming together for one night only at the historic Kessler Theater on December 21st,  to pay homage to him and to honor him by playing songs from this and previous albums as well as showing the recent celebrated documentary film "This Is Sparklehorse". 

Artists listed to perform are Tim Delaughter (Polyphonic Spree, Tripping Daisy), John Dufilho (The Deathray Davies, Apples in Stereo), Chris Flemmons (Baptist Generals), Mara Lee Miller (Bosque Brown), Marcus Striplin (Pleasant Grove), Bret Egner (Pleasant Grove) Scott Danbom (Centro-matic, Alejandro Escovedo), Ryan Thomas Becker (RTB2) , Nathan "Mongol" Wells (The Ottoman Turks), Derek Rogers, Daniel Folmer, Chris Michaels (of Sparklehorse) as well as members of Pleasant Grove and Jackson Scribner band as the backing band.
 
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the nonprofit organization Foundation 45 which raises awareness for suicide prevention, addiction and mental health awareness. 
 
This is a celebration of Mark's life and his music, we hope you can join us.
