Venezuelan Jazz singer and songwriter Raquel Cepeda presents her annual Christmas Concert this coming December 10, 2022 at the iconic Heights Theater in Houston. With a beautiful selection of Jazz Holiday classics, Christmas tunes from around the world, original arrangements and original music, Cepeda and her band will once more warm up the hearts of her audience and ablaze the joy of this beautiful season. William Sigismondi on piano, Thomas Helton on double bass, Adriano Santos on drums, Jesús Pacheco on percussion, Ernesto Vega on sax, and Salvador Velasco on trumpet. This is a concert for the whole family. All ages are welcome.

Raquel Cepeda is a Jazz singer and songwriter who brings the best styles and rhythms from around the world to the refined language and aesthetics of Jazz. A performer whose interpretative quality, approach to storytelling, and multi-cultural style has the ability to reach the hearts and ears of the most demanding and diverse audiences.

A highly regarded singer who has shared the stage with Jazz legends such as Ellis and Delfeayo Marsalis, Raquel Cepeda is also a former Geologist for the oil industry and is originally from Venezuela. Cepeda has released two albums as a soloist. Her latest album “Passion” was nominated for “Best Jazz Album” at the 2020 Pepsi Music Awards and remained in the #1 position of the Roots Music Report Jazz chart for 8 consecutive weeks. Cepeda has performed at important stages like the Miller Outdoor Theater, the MATCH Theater, and the Heights Theater in Houston; the Aula Magna and the BOD Cultural Center in Caracas, the Casa Julieta Da Serpa, Little Club in Beco Das Garrafas, Rio de Janeiro; and the Espaço Cultural Alberico Rodrigues in São Paulo.

Cepeda has been a featured artist by such cultural organizations as Houston Da Camera, Friends of Chamber Music of Bryan/College Station, and the Harris County Cultural Arts Center and has been featured in Houston festivals such as the Holiday Latin Jazz Fest and the Brazilian Food and Music Festival. Cepeda has opened for artists such as Latin percussionist Poncho Sanchez and the American band Commodores, and has also been a special guest to the Kingwood Pops Orchestra.
