James Cook Band with special guest Gammon and the Lonely
AMERICANA SOUL TEXAS SINGER/SONGWRITER JAMES COOK. Drawing inspiration from evocative stories around the Red River, the Wichita Falls, TX native’s penchant for superb narrative lyrics and riveting vocals delivers an impactful punch for this rootsy collection of songs that blends folk-rock, country, and Southern blues hues, with equal parts grit, sorrow, and heart. Momentum began to build for Cook after he won the 2015 Rattle Magazine Songwriter Award, who went on to say, “...truly an original Americana artist, with the twisting of genres that blossom into his own invention. He incorporates country, rock, and blues, with a dash of grit and salt that makes the hairs stand on end when you hear him play. You can feel it in his writing that he pores over every word in detail until it's perfect.” He was also a finalist for the Blue Light, Larry Joe Taylor, and Texas Music Pickers competitions. Since then, Cook has released two albums and has been touring these past years with his band with a raw, energetic show that has opened doors like the Outlaws and Legends Festival, MusicFest in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, 2019 Ranch Bash in Ft Worth, TX, and three Top 40 singles on the TRRR Charts.
Gammon & The Lonely is a Red Dirt/Rock band hailing from the North Texas / Oklahoma region. Blending the raw storytelling and outlaw spirit of Red Dirt country with straight-ahead rock energy, the band delivers a high-octane live experience that keeps crowds dancing and singing along. Fronted by Gammon (Andrew Gammon), the group has built a reputation as a must-see act in the Texas music scene, regularly playing venues in places like Wichita Falls, Abilene, Vernon, and beyond. Their sound sits comfortably between classic Texas country-rock and modern Red Dirt influences — think heartfelt lyrics, strong hooks, and the kind of rowdy, feel-good energy that defines a great night at the bar or honky-tonk.
Tickets for this show will be $12 online in advance and $15 the day of the show at the door.
