Matt the Electrician is the stage name of Matt Sever, a folk-influenced singer-songwriter known for his thoughtful lyrics, warm humor, and intimate storytelling. Originally from Nebraska and later based in Austin, Texas, he earned his nickname while working as an electrician by day and performing music by night.

Blending elements of folk, Americana, and pop, Matt the Electrician has built a loyal following through constant touring and a steady stream of independent releases. His songs often explore everyday life, relationships, and the human experience with sincerity and wit. A longtime presence in the Austin music scene, he’s also recognized for hosting songwriter circles and fostering community among fellow artists.
