IT’S ABOUT PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION!
We believe that each choice matters, even the seemingly insignificant ones! The Slow Down Symposium will be filled with practical ways we can all make a difference. Workshops, panels, makers- and farmers markets, speakers, educational activations and more will be on display as we all come together to learn how to do better, one choice at a time!
10AM - Doors Open - Welcome to The Slow Down Symposium! After checking in at the door, grab a coffee or juice, take a deep breath and peruse our sustainable artisan market, full of small shops offering ethically-sourced and sustainably-made goods! You’ll find makers, curators and artisans passionate about the planet and our place in it! Keep wandering and you’ll find representatives from North Texas farmers markets ready to tell you all about where you can find locally-sourced foods from a local market near you!
10:30AM-4PM - Workshops - Our workshops officially begin! All throughout the day, you’ll find local artisans and makers excited to teach you fun ways to take small steps toward sustainability! From planting and caring for your own succulent terrarium and indigo dying an old t-shirt to basic mending and improved self-sustainability through the Enneagram, these workshops will be the catalyst toward improving our sustainability! Make sure to grab your tickets for the workshops you’re excited about soon as each class has a limited capacity!
11AM-3PM - Speakers & Panels - We’ve broken our speaker-panel sessions into three categories: Slow Food (11am-12pm), Slow Fashion(1pm-2pm) and Lifestyle(2pm-3pm)! Each hour, we’ll welcome experts to speak for eight to ten minutes each, touching on the importance of thinking and acting sustainably and ways we can all take practical steps in our day-to-day lives that will add up to big changes for us and our planet! Each hour will end with all speakers sitting for a Q&A panel.
3PM-4PM - Keynote Speaker - Our special keynote speaker will share her personal journey toward sustainability, her day-to-day decisions that help keep her on the path and intentional ways to remain sustainable that make sense for our busy lives.
5PM - And That's a Wrap!
***The Boho Market is committed to the health and safety of our community. For that reason, we will continue to observe all CDC-recommended COVID policies at all of our events. We'll keep spacing booths at least 6 feet apart, providing hand sanitizer stations throughout our events (thanks to our friends at @standupstations) and asking all of our patrons and small business owners to continue doing their part, too! Let's keep wearing masks, maintaining a 6-foot distance from other shoppers, and bringing some hand sanitizer just in case! We look forward to continuing to support small & local businesses! After all, we're all in this together!***
