Forgiving Chris Brown (Texas Premiere)
USA, 2016, 12 min., Color, English
BLOCK 11 Forgiving Chris Brown is a dark comedy short that follows the follies of “Rihanna”, “Halle” and “Tina”.  These stylish girlfriends hope to heal their battered hearts through the old-fashioned way – Revenge.  The emotional baggage they carry ties them together and makes for some unorthodox fun.  Add these three heartsick ladies plus one bound & unrepentant man to the hot desert and watch them sizzle on screen.  Things take a gut-wrenching turn when Rihanna must decide once and for all what to do with her “Chris”.   The film set in the picturesque landscapes of California – Joshua Tree and Malibu.

She is an alumni of New York University’s Film and Television Production graduate program.  She also is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, holding dual degrees in Mass Communications and History and a Juris Doctorate in Law. With several award-winning short films under her belt as a director and producer, Nuance and subtext are the guiding principals behind much of her creative work.  Her latest directing effort, Forgiving Chris Brown, manages to provide sharp commentary of our obsession with celebrity culture while keeping the audience entertained with edgy comedy. Marquette’s work has appeared in numerous film festivals around the world and has been showcased on television as well.  This work includes Round on Both Sides, Tunk, Heroes Wanted and Streets 2 Suites. As a producer, her credits include Spoonful of Sugar, Adventures of Supern*gger, and Jackie. Her films have been featured on PBS, Showtime, Aspire TV, BET, IFC and other broadcast outlets. She also recently directed and produced several commercial spots, which led to both a coveted Telly Award and Aurora Award for excellence in storytelling.
Tami Jordan
Tami Jordan was born and raised in Englewood, NJ.   At a fairly young age, it was evident that Tami was smitten with two things: New York City and the art of storytelling.  It wasn’t until after she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and dabbled very briefly in Corporate America, that she finally decided to commit to the art of storytelling.  She immediately started taking acting classes and amassed acting experience in New York City.   She trained with Terry Schreiber of T. Schreiber Studio and Mary T. Boyer of MTB Studio.  Over the years, she was cast in several short films, independent films, and off-off Broadway plays.  She also took an interest in producing films.  Tami is happy to creatively reunite with Marquette Jones.  She was the lead of Marquette’s short film, Round on Both Sides.  It was through this short that Tami got her first taste of the film festival circuit.  Though NYC is still one of Tami’s loves, she recently moved to Los Angeles, and is studying with Donna Morong of the Aquila Morong Studio.  www.tamijordan.com
