Going Down is a drama set in a hotel elevator in present day Kingston, Jamaica. It follows Marjorie, a fabulous woman in her 40s, who is engaged in an affair with her much younger boyfriend, Robert, and is confronted by the lack of transparency and intimacy in her marriage when she sees Dan, her husband of 15 years passionately kissing another woman, Julie in a hotel elevator. Mezan Ayoka

Director Bio
Mezan Ayoka is a Jamaican writer and filmmaker who attended the Los Angeles Film School. She has written and directed short films, including Nine Night, Ding, Grow Jamaica Grow, and Going Down. Her short film Going Down, is a 2018 JAFTA Propella! grant awardee and premiered at the Trinidad and Tobago Film festival (2018). Her feature length screenplay Bluefields was a semifinalist in the Screencraft Screenwriters Residency Program (2017) and was a winner of the ReelJamaica Film Lab pitch competition. She founded a peer review screenwriting group and offers script notes and coverage to scripts in the development and pre-production phases.
