Momma Loves Me.
United States, 30 min., Color, English
Life is full of its twists and turns as we sometimes learn but the man who wins is the man who thinks he can. After the tragic loss of the love of his life, baby mother, and confidant, Malcolm Taylor is an open wound susceptible to the pressures of his life. With his family bound by systematic oppression and looking to him as their escape, Malcolm has to fight for his own self liberation in order to become greater than what society has condemned him to be: the young black athlete known only for his physical prowess. But - as with anything new - he must first let go of his past in order to see his future. Director Biography - Kofi Dormah

Director Bio
Born in the village of Tepa, Ghana my father and I traveled to America for an opportunity to change our narrative. With English as my second language, I have spent my entire life trying to find belonging and understanding. At times I questioned if I could shoulder this journey. I have failed many times chasing false dreams that in return have built the necessary discipline needed to embark on this voyage in pursuit of my purpose. Currently living in New York City, I have been blessed with the opportunity to cultivate my skills in filmmaking, and recognize the responsibility that I have to be a voice for people of diverse backgrounds. The art of storytelling holds an immense cultural significance in underrepresented communities - particularly communities of color. Through my storytelling I aim to challenge perspectives and take every mind, body, and soul on a journey full of truth and exploration. I have much to learn but will never give up as I am a living testimony of the power of one man’s dream.
