About the Artists:
The group’s sound ranges from southern psychedelia to progressive composition— all with a spontaneous yet pop-like sensibility. TOC’s debut album, Time to Go (June 2015), was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer John Keane (R.E.M., Widespread Panic) and garnered praise from Relix Magazine as a “confident and polished debut album.” Shortly after, the band won the 2016 Flagpole Athens Music Award for best “Jam/Funk” band and has since headlined the city’s nationally acclaimed festival, AthFest. March 2017 saw the release of Point of Reference which was recorded in Athens, Ga. and produced by Drew Vandenberg (of Montreal, Kishi Bashi, Futurebirds)
Late Notice began on a whim during the summer of 2021 and has continued cultivating the crowds of North Carolina with their unique blend of rock, funk, hip hop, and blues. With influences ranging from the catchy melodies of The Black Keys and the smooth sound of Anderson .Paak, Late Notice is bringing a fresh sound to the Triangle.
Though most folks recognize May from his work behind the keys for rising Charlotte, North Carolina, jam/funk outfit Pluto Gang, May’s debut solo album, “No Party By That Name,” conjures the deep, fundamental influences he regards with such awe and perspective.“Harmony is my favorite thing. Sitting at the keyboard, you can look down and see all of those harmonies,” May says.
