Golden Jesus Chili Cookoff - Live at Dan's Silverleaf

 

The Golden Jesus Chili Cook-off returns to Dan’s Silverleaf, 1/31/26, rain or shine. If you would like to compete, send a message to the Golden Jesus Facebook page ASAP.  In the body of the message, please provide your full name, team name, and phone number.

 

The competition is limited to 13 teams. Your sent message does not guarantee your participation in the cook-off. If you secure a spot in the competition, you will be notified in the days ahead. We cannot accommodate walk ups.

 

INFO TO CONSIDER BEFORE MESSAGING

The competition will take place on the front patio of Dan’s Silverleaf. Judging begins at 4:00. Competitors must arrive by noon, though they are free (and strongly encouraged) to arrive earlier. Cook-spot footprints are strictly limited to a 10x10 area.

 

All chili must be cooked on site. You will not have access to electricity. Your team must have a fire extinguisher on hand. Exceptional sanitary conditions and elevated food handling practices must be maintained. The use of disposable latex/nitrile gloves is appreciated and encouraged. Your cooking area must reflect a “clean as you go” mentality at all times. Failure to maintain the highest possible sanitary standards will result in immediate disqualification and light public shaming.

 

ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. If beer is an ingredient in your "recipe," Dan's Silverleaf will, within reason, supply you with said beer at no cost.
