Steam Powered Giraffe

Steam Powered Giraffe

Steam Powered Giraffe is a fantastical musical project from San Diego, California that's celebrating 19 years in 2027. The group takes on the guise of a robot band helmed by three singing antique automatons and supported by workers from the fictional robotics company that made them. This quirky act combines comedic sketches, improvised banter, and most importantly, original music fused with four-part harmony, toe-tapping melodies, and robot pantomime.

The show opens with a comedic pantomime performance by Jerry Hager, a San Diego mime and movement artist who trained Steam Powered Giraffe’s robot performers. Appearing as his character "Mr. K", Hager brings the charm of vaudeville to the stage. He also joins the band during its set as the robots’ caretaker, “Colonel” Peter A. Walter V.

More than just a band, Steam Powered Giraffe is an experience that must be seen and heard by the entire family!
