Jessica Kirson is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and producer renowned for her high-energy performances, distinctive characters, and candid humor. Born on November 14, 1969, in South Orange, New Jersey, she is of Jewish descent and was raised in a home where her mother worked as a therapist, a background that has influenced her comedic perspective. Kirson's comedic style often delves into personal experiences, including her Jewish upbringing, sobriety, and identity as a lesbian, utilizing a blend of gallows humor and sharp, often edgy, asides. She frequently incorporates inner monologues into her sets, sometimes facing away from the audience, to add depth and authenticity to her performances. Influenced by comedy legends like Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett, Kirson has made notable television appearances on The Tonight Show, The View, and Kevin Can Wait, among others . In 2019, she released her one-hour special Talking to Myself on Comedy Central, executive produced by Bill Burr. She also co-hosts the podcast Disgusting Hawk and contributes to The Howard Stern Show, where she produces and stars in prank calls . Beyond her stand-up career, Kirson has acted in films such as The King of Staten Island (2020), School Dance (2014), and The Comedian (2016), and served as a producer on the 2021 documentary Hysterical, which profiles female comedians .
