Copland, El Salon Mexico - Iona Batchelder, cello - presented by Garland Symphony Orchestra

Our second concert of the season kicks off with Aaron Copland’s El Salón México. Inspired by his own visits to Mexico, this work features Mexican folk melodies along with dances popular in the 1930’s. This work is followed by the impressive American cello virtuoso, Iona Batchelder, performing Dvořák’s Cello Concerto. Our concert concludes with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.
