Aham Pravahini” is an original thematic work that takes inspiration from the famous poet Khalil Gibran’s poem “Fear” that beautifully captures the apprehension & uncertainty a river faces as she readies to merge and become one with the ocean. She hesitates because she is unsure what the future holds….will she lose her identity and disappear if she continues her journey and joins the ocean? Faced with this fear and apprehension, she fondly looks back at the path she has travelled to get here. From her birth in the comforting folds of the mighty mountains, her journey has taken her through multiple places. Every part of her odyssey is filled with enriching experiences. She meets different people, traverses through multiple cities and faces multiple challenges. The river’s odyssey takes the audience through villages, temple towns, drought and floods. Each encounter leaves the river with prolific experiences and the audience with a new perspective. As she reaches the final part of her journey, she takes the risk and braves her fears to merge with the ocean, only to realize that she did not disappear into the ocean but became the ocean. Told as a first person narrative through the perspective and eyes of the river, this unique production draws the viewer into the heart of the river, and takes them on an exclusive journey through the lap of nature.

The thematic production will feature dancers from India and USA along with the creative director Smt Shobana Bhalchandra.
