The Garland Symphony Orchestra invites you to join us on April 3rd at 7:30 pm at the Granville Arts Center for a dazzling performance of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Havanaise, Op. 83 and Tchaikovsky’s Valse-Scherzo, Op. 34 by virtuoso violinist Shannon Lee. In addition to Lee’s stunning playing, this concert will also feature our 17th Annual Great Movie Scores Quiz!

Written in 1887, Saint-Saëns’ Havanaise is a rousing work based on the habanera rhythm; a type of dance rhythm that originated in Spain and became very popular in Latin America. This pairs quite well with Tchaikovsky’s Valse-Scherzo (1877) which is a lively waltz in which Lee will flex her technical prowess.

In our 17th Annual Great Movie Scores Quiz, put your movie score knowledge to the test as you try to recognize an array of scores from some of pop culture’s favorite films. Ranging from timeless classics to obscure gems, there will be something for everyone in our Movie Scores Quiz.
