Jim Suhler and his band Monkey Beat have been igniting stages since 1992, delivering their signature blend of blues-inspired rock ’n’ roll and roots music with raw energy and undeniable soul. Based in Dallas, Texas, the band has earned a loyal international following through relentless touring and unforgettable live shows.

With four releases on Lucky Seven Records, two on Underworld Records, and Jim’s solo acoustic album Dirt Road on Topcat Records, the band’s discography showcases a powerful range of songwriting and musicianship. Their album Tijuana Bible was nominated for Best Rock/Blues Album at the 2010 Blues Music Awards by The Blues Foundation in Memphis.

Jim Suhler & Monkey Beat has worked with legendary producers including Terry Manning (ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Stax Records), Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan), and Grammy-winning producer Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Johnny Winter).

Beyond his work with Monkey Beat, Jim is widely known as the lead guitarist for George Thorogood & The Destroyers—a role he’s held since 1999, contributing to every album and video release during that time.

His music has been featured in films (Spun, Wallace & Gromit), and he’s a multiple nominee in the Dallas Observer Music Awards. Jim is also a proud inductee into the Texas Tornado Hall of Fame, part of BUDDY, Texas’ longest-running music magazine. Jim's latest single Dusty Groove was written with and produced by Tyler Bryant, was recently one two Grammy Awards for producing Best Blues Album.
