flyingfish is the musical project of Sam Fishman, a shoegaze and alternative rock artist from Phoenix, Arizona. Emerging in 2023, he gained widespread attention with his track "wonder if u care," which went viral on TikTok and has since accumulated over 6.5 million streams on Spotify.

Originally focused on instrumental compositions, flyingfish's early work is marked by ambient, lo-fi textures and minimalist guitar arrangements. His debut EP, Isolation, released in May 2023, exemplified this style. Later that year, he released his sophomore EP, the way night falls, further exploring atmospheric soundscapes with standout tracks like "wildflower" and "blurry."

Transitioning from instrumental to vocal-driven music, flyingfish released the single "change" in May 2023. His sound has evolved to blend shoegaze elements with modern alternative rock, drawing comparisons to bands like Deftones and Loathe.
