Starck Club

Named for European interior designer Philippe Starck, the Starck Club was a legendary Dallas nightclub that defined music, experimental video, and performance art for an interesting cross section of counterculture thrill seekers. It was a DJ-driven dance club, a live music venue, and a preferred hangout for international celebrities visiting Dallas. It opened on May 12th of 1984, and we will gather on this same date to celebrate the 40th anniversary of opening night. Many groundbreaking artists played at the Starck over the years, including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Trouble Funk, MC 900 Ft Jesus (who debuted there), Grace Jones, and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, (who was one of the club's initial investors.) This anniversary gathering is first and foremost about reconnecting with old friends and celebrating the impact the legendary club had on Dallas nightlife as a whole. There will be DJs and surprise live performances, as well as a short historical video presentation.
