David Garza

Texas-born and based two-time Grammy winner David Garza returns to the Kessler Theater for his fifth annual December show, now a beloved Dallas tradition. Nearly four decades into his career, Garza continues to deliver unforgettable evenings of music that honor his deep Metroplex roots and ever-evolving artistry.

Garza first made his mark in the late ’80s Deep Ellum scene alongside bass great Clay Pendergrass, fusing the virtuosity of Brave Combo and Ten Hands with the communal spirit of the New Bohemians. His performances - equal parts musicianship, poetry, and spontaneity - have captivated longtime fans and new listeners alike. From inspired high notes and daring guitar licks to impromptu covers and in-the-moment verse, no two Garza shows are ever the same.

2025 has been a watershed year for Garza with the launch of Lost & Found 2005–2025, an ambitious series releasing twelve albums in twelve months. Among them is a special vinyl pressing of Live 1994, a time-capsule recording of a sweat-soaked night at Rick’s Place in Denton that captures the raw electricity of Garza’s early years.

For this Kessler performance, Garza will be joined by his longtime groove partner Michael Hale on drums and Dallas bass maestro Clay Pendergrass, with surprise guests set to take the stage throughout the night. There will be no opening act - just two expansive sets of “Dah-Veed hits,” pulled from a staggering catalog of more than 400 songs across 30 albums.

No setlists. No safety nets. Just the wild joy of a night with David Garza at the Kessler Theater.
