Lisa Morales is a Texas-based, Mexican-American singer-songwriter whose roots trace back to Tucson, Arizona. She grew up immersed in the traditional Mexican music of her family, singing mariachi with her sister Roberta at restaurants from an early age.

Lisa first found broader recognition as one half of the duo Sisters Morales with Roberta — the pair released six albums, blending rock, country, folk, and traditional Mexican styles.

In 2011, Lisa launched her solo career. Her music often weaves together English, Spanish, and Spanglish, drawing on a wide emotional and cultural palette.

One of her standout works is the all–Spanish EP El Amor No Es Cobarde (2022), which celebrates her Mexican heritage through boleros, rumba, and son huasteco.

Her fourth solo album, Sonora, was released in September 2024. It includes the deeply personal track “Hermanitas in the Rain,” which pays tribute to her late sister Roberta.

Lisa’s powerful voice, emotional songwriting, and blending of genres have made her a respected figure in Americana and Latin-influenced music.
